Summer of 2016

Well hello again! Finally the dust of final exams are settling and we are inching closer to the end of a school year (yoohoo!!!)... I don't know if I'm more excited about this or my kids :-). I think I am certainly more excited ha! I hope to make good use of the next two months and help my kids have some fun at the same time help them to remember all that they learned the past year.

Summery dress

School is closing soon and my daughter has a class party and the last of her exam on Monday. So, naturally she asked Mommy dearest to make her a new dress. And since we had a long weekend , we decided to go shopping for some fabrics. I was fun going fabric shopping with my kids. The 3 of us had fun, we talked and walked a lot :-D. I picked up a few cotton fabrics I liked. We came home and I asked her which of the fabrics she wanted me to make into a dress and she picked a light pink (almost flesh tint) fabric with bright orange and yellow floral print. Very summer looking I think. I added some bright orange velvet bands around the waist and bottom of the dress.

Peasant Top / Tunic / semi dress

I loved the cotton fabric in navy blue with the mango design in lavender / violet colour. I had a feeling it would look good on Naima. Wouldn't mind a top for myself either but decided to make her something simple and easy.

That's it for today! Will post pics as I make the rest of her summer wardrobe :-). Till then Au Revoir! A bien tot!
